HAPPY 4th EVERYONE!! A little late, but they say better late than never right! Independence Day is Jonathan's favorite Holiday, so we just had to do TONS of fun things! Tuesday night we went up to Hill Haven for a wonderful night with the family. As you can see the kids had a blast hanging off of the railing until Grandma put a quick stop to it. We played card and board games. We played horseshoes, the kiddo's went lizard hunting with Phil and Rachel (Phil's wonderful girlfriend). Jonathan and I love playing games together, though it seems we do much better when we are on the same team instead of competing against each other. We tend to get very competitive!! The good news is though that we can win or loose with out any hard feelings and enjoy the game either way!

On Wednesday we woke up bright and early to get down to Watkin's cabin. This is where I have spent every 4th of July for as long as I can remember!! The Watkin's are family friends of my Grandparents, and they very graciously allow us to run the place over with all of our family each year. Jonathan and my dad and my brother Jake all went on a long and good horse ride that morning. A good time for all of them to bond! Although it scares me to not be there... they tend to get very "Man from Snowy River". They find their own trails, run across sides of mountains, you know crazy stuff like that. In fact, I was told that on the ride they came to a dead end Jonathan was in the front on Magic and the others behind him. However this wasnt just a "turn around its a dead end"; they somehow had found their way to a super thin cliff where there was absolutely no room to turn around a large Arabian horse. I didnt get all of the details (which was wise, my nerves dont need details) just enough to know that Jonathan was able to turn the horse around with an inch to spare. I have no doubt there are angels watching over this man!!
After breakfast we all enjoyed games, cheating, and laughing with my family. I love getting together with all of the cousins. We have a great time. Later that day Jonathan and I went on a bike ride. And many bike rides after that with children piled on us. The kids could not get enough of the bikes. They were constantly trying to climb up on them. Even the little ones have figured out how to turn on the bikes and push the gas.. ya not good! Also that afternoon Jonathan and Jake took Keira and Sarah (my cousin Jessica's girl, who also lives above us) swimming in a pond near by. It wasnt the cleanest place, but apparently it was very refreshing. That night we went to Adam & Kate's to watch a wonderful show of fireworks! All in all it was a wonderful day. Full of family, fun, and the special moments when our mind was able to reflect on our country and the history of our country, and know that we are blessed. "For the Land of the Free, and the Home of the Brave"!!
