Happy Birthday Big Brother

I have always said that I want my first child to be a boy.

That is because I think everyone needs a big brother! I grew up with the best big brother a little girl could have.

He was fun, he kept me involved, he helped me gain up on my older sisters, he let me do his hair, he was caring and compasionate, he was obnoxious and rough, he made me massage his head every week, he gave me wedgies, and he even gave me a white wash each snow fall! Ah, yes, he was everything a big brother should be! :) And I wouldnt change a thing! Jake is a wonderful big brother and I love him very much!

Thanks Jake for being there for everything I have ever needed you for and for backing off when I didnt need you! :) I will never forget our childhood memories, watching sports in the basement, again the head massages, family vacations, that time you went full speed (on the 4wheeler with me on the back) straight through the puddle of mud at Fish Lake. Best mud bath I ever received!

Nor will the memories of your kindess, as I went through chemo, ever leave my mind. I still remember that awful hospital stay when you brought massage oil and gave my feet the best foot rub I have ever had! Or when you kindly offered to do my hair for me the first time I went out without my wig, and when I kindly declined :).

I will never forget your face when I saw you, for the first time, with your beautiful wife when you became her's for the eternities. Or when I saw you holding each of your wonderful children for the first time. I still remember the paper I wrote about you in 7th Grade about how I wanted to be like you "When I grew up". I thought of you because of your honesty, your maturity, your kindess. You were my "hero" big brother, and I still hope I can be like you, "when I grow up". Love you, Happy B-lated Bday Post! :) And a toast to more memories to come throughout the years!

Birthday Pictures

Jonathan had a wonderful bday, he would tell you, but he never posts on here.  So I get the privileage to let you know how it went!  We started the day off with sleeping in, and breakfast made just for him (a treat because I never make breakfast).  Jonathan also woke up to our house being littered with hearts that have reasons of why I love him.  We then went to work for a bit, and Mom and Dad Day took us out to Lunch at Mimi's Cafe!

After lunch we went back to work for a bit then took of early to hit a bucket of balls (Jonathan loves golf).  Golf it is not my
forte!! But ill admit I do enjoy a good whack at a ball! :)  After golfing, we came home and I made a special dinner for jonathan.  I made my moms special lasagna, I am telling you it is the best lasagna I have ever had! Way better than any restaurants recipe I have ever had!  After dinner Jonathan opened his presents and later my Parents came over to give Jonathan their presents.  After that we watched a movie! All in all it was a great day! Relaxing, but we still were able to do a bunch of fun things!

Easter and Jerusalem

For Easter Jonathan and I spent most of the day with his family, because we were also celebrating his bday for the family. It was a wonderful dinner, and so much fun. I brought a chocolate fountain for dessert (I can't believe I didn't take a picture). I brought the Choc Fountain because Jonathan really wanted one for our wedding but I had already chosen a bunch of desserts so we decided against adding it to the list. Anyway, since we were also celebrating his bday I decided it would be a great time to whip out the fountain for Jonathan. Thanks mom for letting me borrow it!!

Once dinner was over, and we had celebrated Jonathans bday. Oma shared a very special experience with all of us. A few years ago, Oma and her sister Dina, traveled to Jerusalem. She said they had the most marvelous experience of being there in the streets that Jesus had once walked. She explained to us that there are 5 places that she feels sacred about. The home, the church house, the Temple, the Sacred Grove, and Jerusalem. She told of a wonderful experience of going past the Jordan River and feeling a great spirit, she even was able to witness a few people having the opportunity to be baptized in the River! She then spoke of her experience in going to the tomb where they believe Jesus was buried.

After Oma shared her testimony Jonathan and I felt the spirit so strongly and we declared that we must make it to Jerusalem! I would love to have the experience of being in that wondrous city! To see the culture, the architecture, and most importantly the sacred places that belong to the town. So we have decided to start saving "our big bucks" to take a trip!! I am so excited to go! It will be a wonderful experience! I can't wait!  If you too are interested, I have found a man who does tours.  Just looking at the itinerary makes my mouth drool! He also has an option to go to turkey and Egypt while you are out there! Ooooh! Egypt and Jerusalem, here I come!! (In a few years :) )

*By the way the picture above is Jonathan with Raquelle, Angela and Rob's newest beautiful addition to their family! Isn't she gorgeous! And Jonathan is so cute with her, he will be such a good dad!
